The NCBL aims to empower victims of landmines and ERW, survivors of natural disasters as well as persons with disabilities through various grassroots activities and programs. The NCBL offers trainings and activities with the purpose of building the capacities of the survivors and persons with disabilities to improve their access to opportunities. As a part of its capabilities program, the NCBL organised an event where survivors and persons with disabilities hiked a mountain with assistance to demonstrate that they can do anything they set their minds to. Although Nepal has signed the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), it has yet to implement any laws upholding its international commitments. The NCBL continues to advocate for the rights of person with disabilities in Nepal and the importance of upholding the CRPD.
